The our last name curse

It is 8am and here I sit ready to take Alex to basketball camp. I got him up at 7, he showered and ate breakfast. We talked about what drink to get him *just in case* they are allowed to have them. We talked about what we were doing the rest of the day. We even talked about what book I was going to take with me to read while he was there.

As I was in the shower it (finally) dawned on me that today is Sunday... not Monday.

One of the things I have been working on is trying not to be late to everything. I was never late before, and then I married Marty, who brought the our last name curse with him. His family is notoriously 15-20 minutes late (sometimes more) and no one seems to care. The last time we were in Ohio we were invited to a BBQ/Birthday party at his uncle's house. I pulled in at 5 minutes till the time the party was supposed to start... and pulled in right behind his uncle who was just returning from the store. The next person to arrive was 30 minutes later.

I am so afraid of being late to things that this is the result. I hope you are happy, our last name curse!

I just can't bring myself to leave Blogger. Isn't that insane? I feel a sense of loyalty to a website. Sheesh. I think once I get a second to move some stuff, I will probably move to the other one, but for right now I am here.

Co-op planning is DONE! Well, everything except, oh, planning my classes. I know what I want to teach and when I want to teach it, but haven't organized my thoughts much beyond that. Well, that isn't entirely true. It is pretty much done... just not up to my over planning, anal specifications. C'est La Vie...

I did manage to get the block schedule made, the course catalog finished, and both of them turned into PDF files and uploaded... all after spending almost four hours at the park, so that is something.

Next week is basketball camp for Alex. It is going to suck, because Marty's vehicle decided to stop working yesterday. Oh yeah... we bought a new van. A Town and Country. Being a two car family was nice for the two weeks it lasted... Sigh. Hopefully we will find out that it won't cost the equivalent of the monthly grocery budget to fix it, and we will be back to being a two car family soon. That's the plan, anyway.

Well, I am off to bed. It is 12:15 am and I am exhausted. It is exhausting doing nothing all day!

I haven't blogged in *forever* and I'm ok with that. So much has happened... where to start?

*At the fireworks I was escorted out of the men's room by the police because I wouldn't leave the 4 yo I had taken in there by himself. Other than that the fireworks were great and the company was better.

*Went to Ohio on Thursday. Came home early because I don't want or need all of the drama. If people would just realize the following, things would be much better for all of us:
1. I am an adult.

2. I am their mother. I may not be the best mother in the world, but I am all they have, so bite me.

3. I don't care if homeschooling isn't what you would have chosen. Raising my kids while strung out isn't what I would have chosen, but hey, it was good enough for you.

4. Yes, my children are intelligent, articulate children. You might have known that before now if you called once in a while.

5. I don't care if you like me.

Well anyway, I could go on but I was really trying to avoid turning this blog into a bitch fest.

*Got to see Sydney while in Ohio. She is getting so big! If you ask her where the baby is she will pull up her shirt to show you her belly. It was cute until she did it to my Grandma's skirt. =O She is potty training now. (Syd, not my Grandma LOL)

*The boys got to hang out with my Mom quite a bit. They had fun, she had fun... fun was had all around.

*This week Marty and Christian are at Boy Scout camp waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up in the UP. Alex and Ethan had declared that this is "fun week" so we are having nothing but fun, fun, fun. Yesterday was Marie's house, today was setting the wheels in motion for buying a van (the fun won't be realized until we see the look on Marty's face when we tell him!) and tomorrow might be pizza filled fun with Marie and Max. My fun stores are almost tapped out, so we are kind of screwed after tomorrow. We will have to think of something.

*On the reading list for this week:
